Lane Christianson has managed the Adopt-a-Drain and the Storm Drain Stenciling programs in Minneapolis since their inception. Both programs encourage residents to keep storm drains clean to help improve local water bodies. He provides engagement and outreach for stormwater initiatives in capital projects and is the liaison for Watershed Partners, working extensively with the four Minneapolis WMOs. During his 34-year career with Minneapolis Public Works, he has worked in multiple divisions and held several leadership positions throughout his career.
Lane is a Minneapolis STAR award recipient (for employees significantly impacted the City and brought positivity into the workplace), a Certified Community Connector, a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and a frequent guest on local podcasts. Lane stays busy by facilitating educational sessions for consultancy firms and has been involved with creating social media strategy for Twin Cities companies.
Lane was born and raised in the Twin Cities, spending his free time playing golf, gardening, bicycling, and visiting local brew pubs. He connects with his neighborhood through the grassroots block club he founded near his home in Roseville, MN.
