Connie Fortin
Connie Fortin is the President of Fortin Consulting Inc. an environmental consulting firm established in 1996. She holds a Master of Science degree from St. Thomas University. Connie is a national expert in chloride reform. FCI has created all the state of MN training programs in Smart Salting and invented the Smart Salting Assessment tool which has now gained national and international attention. Her work she has pushed MN into a national chloride leadership role. She started the Salt Symposium now in its 21st year and has taught over 20,000 winter maintenance professionals smart salting. She has been a major contributor of Minnesota’s Chloride Management plan (MN is the first state to adopt such a plan, asking every person who lives/works in MN to reduce salt use). Connie is an effective leader. She speaks at many major US forums on winter maintenance and has worked for clients at all level of government, private and non-profit sector.
