Gleicy Cavalcante is a Water Resources Engineer in Georgia with expertise in stormwater and wastewater management, watershed hydrology, open channel hydraulics, and water quality. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental and Sanitation Engineering from the Federal University of Pampa in Brazil, and a Master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Georgia. Her Master's thesis focused on the performance of urban best management practices as she believes in the integration of natural and conventional infrastructure systems to improve long-term resilience to flooding and water quality issues. She has been a member of the IECA Southeast Chapter since 2019, and in 2021 became part of the IECA Stormwater Management Track Education Committee. Gleicy has now won the IECA 2022 Technical Paper of the Year.
