Diane Adger-Johnson, MPH

Diane Adger-Johnson is a Health Science Program Officer in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Division of Extramural Activities (DEA). Her primary responsibilities in this position include the management and oversight of various research training grants, diversity programs, minority health and health disparities reporting, and outreach coordination for the institute in areas related to student mentoring, training, and entry into biomedical research.
She joined NIAID as a Supervisor Biologist in the Laboratory of Infectious Disease, Immunodeficiency Virus Section. She conducted research in this lab focused on molecular biology, vaccine development, humoral and cellular mechanism, and the pathogenesis of Simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Prior to her appointment at NIH, she worked as a Microbiologist at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agriculture Research Service (ARS) in the area of Eimeria coccidiosis vaccine development. She has a B.S. in Biology and Master of Public Health (MPH).
