Dr Workowski serves as a consultant to CDC to coordinate the development of the CDC Sexually Transmitted Infections Treatment Guidelines, which serves as the national and international standard for the management of sexually transmitted diseases. Dr Workowski directs the syphilis section of the HIV Prevention and Opportunistic Infection Guidelines (NIH, CDC), and serves as co-chair for the renal section of the Hepatitis C guidelines (AASLD/ IDSA). Dr. Workowski provides expert assistance and technical guidance for the sexually transmitted infections advisory council of the Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Consortium.
