The OHSU OPAT Program changed from a midlevel model to an RN model in 2016. The program received a complete makeover at that time with initiation of new ID and hospital-wide processes and protocols. This led to the OHSU OPAT program becoming a well-oiled machine at OHSU. Kathleen Young, Heather Mayer and Alyse Douglass, all OPAT RNs at OHSU have been dedicated to the care of our patient population, collaboration with all hospital teams and continual enhancement of our program for the past 5 years. Amber Streifel, pharmD is an integral part of patient care, RN and provider resource support and provides expertise in cutting edge care for challenging and vulnerable patient populations. In 2018, ID, OPAT and Addiction Medicine collaborated to develop the OPTIONS-DC Care Conference tool to improve treatment planning for persons who use drugs. Our goal as an OPAT team is to continue to provide patient centered care and act as a resource for other instutions and OPAT programs.
