Dr. Nicholas Kartsonis graduated from Emory University in 1990 and obtained his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 1994. After he completed training in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in 1997, he completed his sub-specialty training in Infectious Diseases at the Harvard Partners system (combined MGH and Brigham and Women’s Hospital) in 1999. Thereafter, he worked in a laboratory at MGH on HIV-1 antiretroviral resistance. Nick joined Merck Research Laboratories (MRL) as an Associate Director in the Infectious Diseases/Vaccines Clinical Research Department in February 2000. In May 2018, Nick was appointed to Senior Vice President to lead the Infectious Disease and Vaccines late stage development therapeutic areas.
