Victoria A. Statler, MD, MSc, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Director for the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at Norton Children’s and University of Louisville (UofL) School of Medicine in Louisville, KY, US. Dr Statler is also the founder and Director of the Pediatric Transplant and Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Clinical Service at Norton Children’s Hospital, Louisville.
Dr. Statler earned her undergraduate degree from Davidson College, in Davidson, NC. She obtained her medical degree from UofL School of Medicine, where she subsequently completed a Residency in Pediatrics followed by a Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases while also earning a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigative Sciences. She joined the faculty at Norton Children’s and the UofL School of Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Statler is a clinician-educator and she has received the Peer Clinician-Educator Excellence Award from the Department of Pediatrics (2015-2016, 2018) and is a member of the division that received the Top Two Teaching Divisions award in 2020. She is passionate about the clinical care of immunocompromised children. Dr Statler is actively involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) where she is a member of the Transplant Education Subcommittee, American Society of Transplantation (AST), AST Infectious Diseases Community of Practice Pediatric Working Group, and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
Dr Statler’s research interests include vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases, infectious diseases in immunocompromised hosts, and unexplained fevers in children. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and five book chapters. She has presented over 40 poster, oral and platform presentations. She has also been involved in various local policy and guideline development and has been a site principal investigator for several industry-sponsored clinical trials.
