Dr. Sandora is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and an attending in pediatric infectious diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he has served as the Hospital Epidemiologist and Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control since 2005.
Dr. Sandora’s research interests focus on healthcare-associated infections in children, including the epidemiology, diagnosis, and prevention of pediatric Clostridioides difficile infection and central line-associated bloodstream infections. He is a co-author of the IDSA-SHEA Clinical Practice Guidelines for C. difficile infection in adults and children.
Dr. Sandora is a fellow of SHEA and PIDS and was the Chair of the SHEA Spring 2021 conference. He is also a member of IDSA, the Society for Pediatric Research, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a prior recipient of the SHEA Pediatric Investigator Award. He holds several leadership roles in medical education and is the recipient of multiple teaching awards at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. A graduate of Duke University and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Sandora completed his pediatrics residency, chief residency, and pediatric ID fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.
