Grace D. Appiah, MD, is a medical epidemiologist in the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Appiah holds adjunct faculty appointment in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Emory University School of Medicine. She received her B.A. from Swarthmore College in 2004 and her M.D. from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2008. She trained in Pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Children’s National Medical Center. She also earned a Masters in Clinical and Translational Research from the George Washington University School of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She joined CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) and commissioned into the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) in 2014. She was appointed in 2020 to the American Board of Pediatrics, Subboard of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
