Eric Chan received his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Calgary, Canada and his expertise includes psychometrics, patient-reported outcome (PRO) measurement, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). He is currently Director, Patient Reported Outcomes at Janssen, supporting compound development programs in infectious diseases and vaccines. Prior to joining Janssen he was in the Measurement, Evaluation, and Research Methodology (MERM) Program at the University of British Columbia, a partner of a consulting firm providing services in evaluation and policy analysis, and a fellow of the Technology Evaluation in the Elderly Network (now Canadian Frailty Network). Eric is also active in professional activities such as serving as the lead author of “Implementing Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in Clinical Practice: A Companion Guide to the ISOQOL (International Society for Quality of Life Research) User’s Guide” and as co-editor of “Validity and validation in social, behavioral, and health sciences.”
