My name is Stephanie McMahon and I am a 3rd year PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Genetics program at Texas A&M University. I received my Bachelors degree in Microbiology from Colorado State University in 2020 before beginning my career in Texas. My past research background includes work on prion diseases such as Mad Cow and Chronic Wasting Disease as well as work on the genetic basis of ear loss in frogs. I currently work on the microbiome of acute myeloid leukemia patients to better understand how the microbiome plays in role in bloodstream infection and the survival outcome of hospitalized patients.
