Sanjay Ram is an Infectious Diseases physician-scientist at UMass Chan Medical School. He graduated from Seth G. S. Medical College in Mumbai, India, did an Internal Medicine residency at SUNY Buffalo and an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Boston University. He is an IDSA Fellow, a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation. His group has elucidated several complement evasion mechanisms by the pathogenic Neisseriae. This knowledge is now being used to develop novel immunotherapies and vaccines against gonorrhea. He attends on the adult Infectious Diseases service at the UMass Chan Medical School and enjoys learning along with his trainees.
