Josh Schaffzin is a pediatric infectious diseases physician and a hospital epidemiologist at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Josh's primary interest and involvement is in understanding, improving, and designing systems to support evidence-based practice. He has conducted research in SSI prevention, and has published studies on evidence and system implementation and improvement in clinical and non-clinical areas. Josh is a long time SHEA member, serving on the Pediatric Leadership Council, the Guidelines Committee, and the Conference Planning Committee. Josh is also participated in the 2022 Compendium update as a writing panel member for the SSI prevention chapter and co-lead of the implementation chapter, which is what he is here to talk about today.
