Dr. Kovats received a B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Genetics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Kovats is currently a Member in the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and an adjunct Professor in the Dept. of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Kovats’ current research focuses on the function of lung tissue-resident innate immune cells during respiratory virus infection in murine and human models. Dr. Kovats has a long-standing interest in sex differences in immunity, and her lab has studied how sex hormones (estrogens and androgens) and their receptors regulate the development and function of immune cells.
