Dr. Bryan Lenneman is a postdoctoral associate in Dr. Timothy Lu’s lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, and Systems Biology at The University of Chicago in 2019. Dr. Lenneman is interested in using the tools of synthetic biology to develop novel therapeutics against diseases associated with dysbiosis of the microbial community within the human gut. His research focuses on engineering bacteriophages to deliver antimicrobial payloads as an alternative to conventional antibiotics for the targeted removal of pathogenic bacteria and on developing probiotic bacteria as therapeutic additives to the gut microbiome.
