Dr. Mary Choi is medical officer with CDC’s Viral Special Pathogens Branch. She graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1999 and completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan. In 2010, she completed a fellowship in International Emergency Medicine at Columbia University where she also received her MPH in Forced Migration. She graduated from CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service in 2014.
Dr. Choi has been extensively involved in the agency’s numerous responses to Ebola virus disease outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo, West Africa, and the United States. She also serves as CDC workgroup lead for the ACIP Ebola vaccine working group.
Prior to joining CDC, Dr. Choi worked extensively overseas in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East as a medical officer in the U.S. Army and later as a civilian working for the International Rescue Committee.
