Dr. Nosanchuk is the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education (2017-present) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in addition to being a Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and Microbiology & Immunology.
Externally, he has had wide-ranging experience at the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), including chairing IDWeek 2021 and the Joint Research Awards Committee 2008-2010. He currently serves as a Member of the National Board of Medical Examiners Board. Dr. Nosanchuk serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including IDSA's Journal of Infectious Diseases. He has published over 320 scientific papers and several book chapters. He has funding from the US NIH and Department of Defense. He is an elected fellow of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, American Academy of Microbiology, American College of Physicians, and Infectious Diseases Society of America.
As the Senior Associate Dean at Einstein, Dr. Nosanchuk oversees and coordinates activities with the Offices of Medical Education, Student Affairs, Admissions, and Faculty Development to ensure that the total student experience with curriculum, clerkships and extracurricular activities achieve the highest levels of excellence. He has received Einstein’s Samuel M. Rosen Outstanding Preclinical Teacher Award in 2015 and Harry Eagle Award for Outstanding Basic Science Teaching in 2016. In 2015, he became an honorary Alumnus of Einstein and he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in 2016.
After graduating from Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences in 1988, Dr. Nosanchuk received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1992. He completed internship and residency at New York Hospital/Cornell from 1992-1995, following which he did clinical and research fellowships in the division of infectious diseases of the Department of Medicine at Einstein/Montefiore, and then he joined the faculty in that division as an Instructor in 1998.
