Professor Katja Seme, MD, PhD graduated from University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Medicine. She is a specialist in clinical microbiology, currently Head of Laboratory for diagnostics of respiratory infections at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology and Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her professional/research activities focus on clinical microbiology diagnostic testing, automation in microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, oral microbiology, diagnostic aspects and genetic heterogeneity of HPV and epidemiology of HCV. She published 169 research/review articles in PubMed-cited journals (>2,400 citations, current Hirsch index 22) and delivered numerous national and international presentations.
