L. Nicholas Herrera, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He graduated from medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine then completed residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston before returning to UASOM for his infectious disease fellowship. Dr. Herrera serves as Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital and Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital. His professional and research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, global health, and medical education.
