Ricardo Trigueros completed his Internal Medicine training at Saint Barnabas Hospital in New York City followed by a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Wake Forest University Medical center and has now moved on to join the Division of Infectious Diseases as an Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Having witnessed the COVID-19 pandemic in one of the most affected areas of the country sparked an interest in one of its uncommon complications, Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in Adults. Being a syndrome that can easily mimic a large spectrum of infectious etiologies with potential cardiovascular sequelae he is Interested in educating clinicians to recognize this rare complication and intervene early to prevent long term cardiovascular sequelae. His interest also involve Neglected Tropical Diseases and re-emergence of Trypanosoma cruzi previously believed eradicated in rural areas of Central America.
