Dr. Wang is Professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Internal Medicine Department, and Infectious Disease Division. She received her infectious disease specialty training at University Wisconsin and Louisiana State University and completed a Tuberculosis Fellowship at Tulane University Medical Center.
She has served as Medical TB Director for the Ben Franklin TB Clinic from 2005 to Feb 2022. She is the current Medical TB Consultant for Ohio Department of Health and also serves as Medical TB Consultant and educational trainer for the CDC TB Center of Excellence (COE) for the Northeast region based at the Rutgers Global TB Institute at New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Wang is the Immediate Past President of the National Society of TB Clinicians (NSTC) of the National TB Controller Association (NTCA). She is currently leading efforts for national TB-COVID-19 co-morbidities evaluation as well as TB programmatic and clinician guide for Study 31 or the 4 month short course TB regimen for drug susceptible TB.
Dr. Wang is expanding her local and global efforts in TB as the Director of Implementation Science and Research for the OSU Global One Health initiative. She had been working with community partners to increase TB awareness and screening in the Asian American population in Central Ohio and continues to work on One Health approach for rapid diagnostics and point of care tests in human and animal in the US, China, Guatemala, and Ethiopia.
