Ziad Tarazi, Scientist for The Medicines Company, San Diego c/o Qpex Biopharma, Inc.
I have worked in infectious disease research for 17 years. I have climbed the ladder from an entry level position to my current role as a Scientist, PK-PD specialist and study monitor for GLP and Non-GLP toxicology studies at contract facilities. Studies include repeat dose toxicology, safety pharmacology, and reproductive toxicology all with associated toxicokinetics in multiple species. Additionally, I serve as the manager of the in-house pharmacology team and as principal investigator for all in-house animal research. Aside from researching, designing, and conducting several animal models; I also specialize in in vitro pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic studies utilizing hollow-fiber reactors where we apply known human pharamcokinetics to an in vitro infection model to determine the efficacy of our drug combinations and proposed dosing regimens. Our research group has been very successful, and we have developed 4 drugs that are in market: Quinsair, Minocin, Kimyrsa, and Vabomere. Additionally, we have three additional programs completing Phase 1 clinical trials. You can find several of my publications on drug discovery and development online. I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities, feel free to contact me.
