Ramesh Nathan, MD, FIDSA is a practicing infectious diseases physician with over 17 years of practice experience and has served as a Chief of Staff. He is the Infectious Diseases Subspecialty Lead faculty for the Los Robles Health System Internal Medicine GME program, focusing on clinical teaching and research mentorship. Dr. Nathan also currently acting as a Medical Director at a medium sized as well as rural, critical access hospitals via telemedicine. He has expertise in designing and implementing care transformation programs, leading high reliability teams, and highlighting the role of telemedicine in infectious diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship. Dr. Nathan has been involved in developing policy and procedures for Antimicrobial Stewardship and COVID-19 management, deployed to all 22 hospitals in the area. Other interests in infectious diseases center around developing novel approaches to reducing healthcare associated conditions, managment of OPAT, addressing variation in healthcare delivery, formulation of diagnostic stewardship pathways, and medical education. Dr. Nathan was also a site principal investigator for BLAZE-1, ACTIV-2, and ACTIV - 4 clinical trials for COVID. He received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Infectious Disease training and fellowship at Cedars Sinai.
