Dr. Martin is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Infectious Diseases. He earned his BA in History and BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona, with a minor in German and an emphasis in Middle Eastern Studies. He graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2003. After spending his internship at New York University/Bellevue Hospital, he completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Arizona in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, respectively. He additionally earned his Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Goras Program in Tropical Medicine in Lima, Peru, and his MBA from the University of Texas.
Dr. Martin is originally from Arizona, having been born in Sierra Vista, but he spent most of his childhood in Spain and Germany. As an undergraduate, he studied German language and European history for a year at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He loves to travel and was once certified as an Advanced Wilderness Expedition Provider. He has been in private Infectious Disease practice in Tucson since 2008. His primary focus is on inpatient medicine, as well as on patients requiring post-acute care in Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Acute Care facilities. He has significant interest and contribution in OPAT and outcomes research.
