Dr. Alfonso Hernandez Acosta is originally from Mexico City, obtaining his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM in Spanish). He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He is currently a fellow in Infectious Diseases in the combined program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. His interests within ID include transplant and immunocompromised ID, COVID-19, virology and micology.
