Grace Marx, MD, MPH, is an infectious disease physician and medical epidemiologist with the Bacterial Diseases Branch at CDC’s Division of Vector-Borne Diseases. Her primary areas of interest include the epidemiology and prevention of bacterial vector-borne diseases including Lyme disease, tularemia, and plague, with a focus on health inequities and social determinants of health. In her current position, she has led efforts to create new surveillance systems for Lyme disease and tick bites, to describe the epidemiology of neglected vector-borne diseases including Bartonella quintana among people experiencing homelessness, and to develop a new suite of healthcare provider education materials about tickborne disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
