Bart Szewczyk MS, MPH, is a research assistant at Tufts Medical Center, working with Dr. Alysse Wurcel in the Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Diseases. A recent graduate of the Public Health program at Tufts University School of Medicine, he completed theses on the novel application of international antibiotic benchmarking metrics to jails and on methods for treating Community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA) skin and soft tissue infections (SSTI). Bart's research interests include the intersection of stigma, race, and ethnicity in HIV risk and treatment, and he designed and completed an independent study on the barriers to establishing community-based HIV care following incarceration. Bart is currently applying to medical school.
