Sophie Katz, MD, MPH is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She attended medical school at LSU in Shreveport, Louisiana, Pediatric Residency and Chief Residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and obtained a Master’s in Public Health degree from Vanderbilt University. Her research interests include outpatient antimicrobial stewardship and the role of biomarkers for assisting antibiotic stewardship in the inpatient setting. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants in Nashville (before COVID) and jogging.
