Marisol Fernandez, MD.
After her fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where she fulfilled her dream and passion to become a Pediatric Infectious Diseases physician and after working in a medically underserved area, Dr. Fernandez returned to Austin in 2003. She has remained in active practice since then.
As a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist, she sees patients with a variety of illnesses, including prolonged fever and illnesses, recurrent infection, bone and joint infections, complicated pneumonia and infections involving the brain and spine. She also actively participates in caring for neonates in the different Neonatal ICUs in Austin, as well as having dedicated time to plan strategies for the best use of antibiotics in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
