Dr. Alexander Vostal is an active duty officer in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and a translational research fellow in the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. In addition to his fellowship, Dr. Vostal is also an associate researcher at the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program of the Uniform Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS).
Early in his career, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Immunology/Microbiology at the University of Rochester, Dr. Vostal worked as a post-baccalaureate researcher at the Vaccine Research Center of the National Institutes of Allergens and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). He then began his career as a NIAID/NIH-sponsored officer in the USPHS and received his Doctorate of Medicine from USUHS. Subsequently, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
