Jason Newland, MD MEd FPIDS is a Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University in St. Louis and the Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. His current research spotlights the use of antimicrobials and the impact of an antimicrobial stewardship program at a children’s hospital. He is a co-founder of the Sharing Antimicrobial Reports for Pediatric Stewardship (SHARPS) Collaborative for improving antimicrobial use in children that is comprised of over 60 Children’s Hospitals in the United States. He is the Chair of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society’s (PIDS) Committee on Antimicrobial Stewardship.
