Dr. Nisha Thampi is a pediatric infectious diseases physician and Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa. She completed her pediatrics residency and subspecialty training in infectious diseases at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and has a Master’s of Science degree in Public Health, with a focus on Health Economics, from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She completed a Clinical Research Fellowship with the Mount Sinai Hospital-University Health Network Antimicrobial Stewardship Program prior to joining the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa as medical director of the Infection Prevention and Control Program. Dr. Thampi’s academic interests include pediatric healthcare-associated infection surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship in neonates.
