Dr Susan Johnson trained in immunology at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the WHO Collaborative Center for Neonatal Vaccinology in host-pathogen interactions, Dr Johnson completed pivotal research into HIV specific cytotoxic CD4 T cells at the US Military HIV Research Program. Since completing her postdoctoral work Dr Johnson has used her T cell expertise to contribute to immuno-oncology programs in several biotech companies before joining Vaxart as a Senior Scientist.
