Dr. Nada Fadul is the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Education Programs; and Professor of Medicine at the Division of Infectious Diseases, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She is the Medical Director of the UNMC’s Specialty Care Center and the Principal Investigator of the Ryan White Parts C&D grants. She completed her medical degree from the University of Khartoum-Faculty of Medicine in Sudan and subsequently completed her Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases training in the US. She served on the Leadership Development and Awards committees of the HIV Medical Association and the Quality Management Committee of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA); an IDSA advocacy liaison, Value-based Compensation group member, and was selected to join the inaugural IDSA Leadership Institute. Dr. Fadul received multiple regional, national and international awards including the 2020 IDWeek Program Choice Award for best abstract; authored and coauthored several peer reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters; presented her research at national and international meetings; and mentored several students and trainees. She is active in advocacy for justice, human rights and sustainable development issues facing LMIC and volunteers at several local and national Sudanese community organizations. She enjoys writing Arabic poetry, reading, and traveling with her family.
