I was born in Mexico City and graduated from medical school in 2016 (UNAM). I dedicated my last year of medical school to work on research regarding community-acquired pneumonia and respiratory viruses within the Mexican Emerging Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network (La Red), an NIH-funded research and surveillance group created in response to the outbreak of the H1N1 pandemic in 2009. In 2019 I moved to Evanston, Illinois, where I completed my internal medicine training in 2022. I am a first-year Infectious Diseases fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine. My academic interests include big data analytics, emerging disease, outbreak response, hospital epidemiology, and infection prevention.
