Samuel Dominguez, MD, PhD is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. He is also a Professor of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health. He serves as the Medical Director for the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory and the Associate Medical Director for Infection Control and Prevention at Children's Hospital Colorado. He obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry and mathematics at Houghton college. He then completed the MD/PhD program at the University of Chicago. Dr. Dominguez completed his pediatric residency at the University of Chicago and his Pediatric Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Colorado, joining the faculty there in 2007. He has a research interest in clinical diagnostics and diagnostic stewardship, emerging infectious diseases, pediatric respiratory viral infections, coronaviruses, enteroviruses, Acute Flaccid Myelitis, and Kawasaki disease. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications.
