Andrea Prinzi SM(ASCP), MPH, CPH is a clinical microbiologist at Children's Hospital Colorado and a PhD student in the clinical and translational science program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Andrea's current research focuses on the utility of pneumonia diagnostics in mechanically ventilated patients, with the ultimate goal of developing national guidelines for the workup and management of tracheal aspirate cultures. Andrea is a blog writer for the American Society for Microbiology and loves all forms of science communication. She is a member of the IDSA mentorship committee and has enjoyed teaching and mentoring infectious disease clinicians as well as microbiologists on the CU Anschutz medical campus for nearly 10 years.
