Dr Andreas H Groll is Professor of Pediatrics, Head of the Infectious Disease Research Program, Center for Bone Marrow Transplantation and Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and Deputy Director of the Department of Hematology and Oncology at the University Children's Hospital in Münster, Germany.
Dr Groll’s postgraduate education included fellowships in Infectious Diseases at the Children's Hospital in Boston, and in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Groll is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and Infectious Diseases.
Dr.Groll’s research interests include infectious complications in the immunocompromised host, particularly invasive fungal infections and viral infections, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of antimicrobial agents, and the design and conduct of clinical research studies. He is a member of several international medical societies, on the editorial board of several international journals and has published more than 300 scientific articles thus far. He is regularly engaged in patient care as Attending Physician in the inpatient and outpatient service of the Department and in the pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant program.
