Dr. Danniel Zamora is an Acting Assistant Professor of infectious diseases in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, WA. Dr. Zamora is a recent graduate of the UW Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program in 2020. Prior to fellowship, Dr. Zamora received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, AZ in 2014 and completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) in Dallas, TX in 2017. Dr. Zamora is an Associate in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch) in Seattle, WA and his research focus is on infections in the immunocompromised host and pathogen-specific immune responses following hematopoietic cell transplantation. Specifically, he has interests in cytomegalovirus (CMV)-specific humoral and cellular reconstitution after hematopoietic cell transplantation. He is a member of the Boeckh Lab group and is a mentee to Dr. Michael Boeckh, a leading expert of infectious diseases and renowned researcher of viral infections following hematopoietic cell transplantation including CMV. Dr. Zamora has first author publications in the Journal of Infectious Diseases and the American Society of Hematology journal, Blood. His research has also been presented at multiple national conferences including the Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Meetings of ASBMT and CIBMTR as well as IDWeek in previous years.
