Dr. Fernanda Silveira has worked as a Transplant Infectious Diseases physician and clinical researcher for the past 15 years. She obtained her medical degree at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Miami, followed by Infectious Diseases and Transplant Infectious Diseases Fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). She is the director of clinical operations for Transplant Infectious Diseases at UPMC. Dr. Silveira’s clinical and research interests are in infections in organ transplant recipients, particularly CMV, respiratory virus infections, and fungal infections.
