My name is Ioannis Grigoropoulos and I am an internist MD and research fellow in the 4th Department of Internal Medicine, "Attikon" University Hospital, Athens, Greece since June 2021. Previously, I have worked as a resident in Internal Medicine in the 2nd Department of Medicine and Laboratory, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School, Hippokration General Hospital, Athens, Greece and in the Community Healthcare Center of Chalkion village, Naxos, Greece. I graduated from Athens Medical School, Greece in 2014. Currently, I am completing my post-graduate studies in “Epidemiology – Research Methodology in biomedical sciences, clinical practice and public health”, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School, Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology. Alongside, I am an instructor of advanced life support in the Hellenic Society of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Athens, Greece. My teaching experience includes bed-side teaching of medical and dentistry students and nursing staff.
My primary interest in medicine is infectious diseases, especially regarding immunocompromised individuals. My clinical work is, currently, on post-COVID conditions and my research activity includes clinical research in infectious diseases, mostly COVID-19. In the near future, I plan to begin an Infectious Diseases specialty program and hope to engage in more research in the ID field.
