Shawn Depcinski, Pharm.D. is a Clinical Specialty Pharmacist in HIV/Hepatitis/Infectious Diseases with Ascension Rx Specialty Pharmacy embedded in the Ascension St. John Center for Internal Medicine. Prior to 2021, he was the Pharmacy Lead for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at St. Luke's University Health Network and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Dr. Depcinski graduated from Ferris State University College of Pharmacy in 2011 and completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Residencies at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in 2013. In his current role, Dr. Depcinski provides patient outreach, care coordination, financial and prior authorization assistance, medication reconciliation and counseling, and clinical interventions; he is also involved in research and student/resident teaching. Dr. Depcinski’s professional interests include all things infectious, but particularly: pathogenic resistance, rapid diagnostics/biomarkers, antimicrobial/diagnostic stewardship, and how technology plays a role in improving patient care.
