Jennifer Hegewisch-Taylor is a researcher in Medical Sciences and teacher at the Center for Health Systems Research of the National Institute of Public Health of Mexico. She holds a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine from Radboud University in the Netherlands and has conducted research stays in Germany, Spain and the Dominican Republic. Her research topics focus on the intersection between infectious diseases and health systems. She currently seeks to highlight the importance of addressing zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance and other challenges from a One Health human-animal-environmental approach through research and teaching, leading a project focused on One Health governance. He has collaborated on public health issues such as irrational use of antimicrobials and programs for their optimization, epidemiological surveillance of communicable diseases including vector-borne diseases and prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and congenital syphilis and health emergency response preparedness, among others.
