Paula A. Eckardt, MD, is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. She earned her medical degree in 1997 from Universidad del Norte, in Barranquilla, Colombia. She completed an internship in internal medicine in 2000 at Jackson Memorial Hospital/VA Medical Center through the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine in 2002 and a fellowship in infectious diseases in 2004.
Dr. Eckardt has served as a primary care physician and infectious disease consultant since 2004. In 2008, she joined Memorial Healthcare System as an infectious disease consultant, HIV/AIDS specialist and primary care physician. Since 2011, Dr. Eckardt has served as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Since 2014, she has also served as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Eckardt is a physician ambassador for the Broward is Greater than AIDS campaign. She is certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV Specialist. One of her current interests is to treat Hepatitis C infected patients. Dr. Eckardt is a member of Memorial Physician Group, and she serves as Medical Director of the Memorial Division of Infectious Disease.
Dr. Eckardt is a Ryan White Part A provider. She provides ambulatory medical services, substance abuse services, disease medical case management, and case management.
