Dr. Zhang is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the Division of Epidemiology and co-Director of Study Design and Biostatistics Center at the University of Utah, the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. He is a broadly trained biostatistician with specific training and expertise in the areas of causal inference, infectious disease modeling, multi-state modeling, environmental statistics, machine learning, and longitudinal data analysis. I have served as either the Principal Investigator, co-Investigator, or lead statistician on multiple University of Utah internal grants and extramural NIH, CDC, and VA grants, and have successfully collaborated with clinical and epidemiologic research teams to accomplish project goals in a timely manner. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier scientific and statistical journals including Biometrics, Statistics in Medicine, Clinical Infectious Diseases, European Respiratory Journal, and the American Journal of Epidemiology.
