Melisa M. Shah, MD MPH, is an infectious diseases physician working as a medical epidemiologist in the Coronavirus and other Respiratory Viruses Division (proposed) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She completed her medical training and MPH at Emory University and internal medicine residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She completed adult infectious diseases training at Stanford University on the research track. She worked on malaria and arbovirus studies under the mentorship of Desiree Labeaud during fellowship. She then joined the Epidemic Intelligence Service at CDC in 2020 where she has focused on the COVID-19 response.
