Veronica Zafonte, PharmD, BCIDP is the Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Specialist at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the Sciences, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 2015. Veronica completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Winthrop-University Hospital, and a PGY-2 infectious diseases pharmacy residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center – Strong Memorial Hospital.
Veronica is an active member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) and is serving as the Vice-Chair of the Social Media Committee. She is also serving as the President-Elect for the Long Island Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Her practice interests include antimicrobial stewardship, multidrug-resistant infections, management of persons living with HIV and Hepatitis C, and precepting student pharmacists.
