Epidemiologist of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ms. Venera Alymkulova is an epidemiologist specializing in surveillance and prevention infectious diseases. Ms. Alymkulova received her bachelor’s degree in public health in 2010 from the I.K. Akhunbaeva Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. In 2020, she was accepted into Central Asia Region Field Epidemiology Training Program in Almaty, Kazakhstan supported by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is also a candidate for a master’s degree in applied epidemiology from the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.
She has been working at the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic since 2022. Prior to this, Ms. Alymkulova implemented infection control measures in healthcare facilities, conducted trainings and seminars for healthcare workers, and carried out supervisory visits to regional health departments. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Alymkulova was on mobile response teams that carried out monitoring, preparedness, and infection control advisory work in hospitals temporarily repurposed for COVID-19 patient intake.
