Dr. Thana Khawcharoenporn received his MD from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand in 2002 before moving to the University of Hawaii, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency training in 2008. In 2011, Dr. Khawcharoenporn finished his Infectious Disease fellowship training and a Master of Science in Clinical Research from Rush University in Chicago, IL, USA. He has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2008 and by the American Board of Infectious Diseases since 2010.
He is a member of several societies, including Society of Healthcare and Epidemiology of American, the International AIDS Society, the Infectious Diseases Association of Thailand and the Medical Council of Thailand and Thai AIDS Society. Throughout his academic career, he has received numerous awards and honors and presented his research at many national and international conferences. He has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and five book chapters and is currently also a reviewer for several international Infectious Diseases journals.
Dr. Khawcharoenporn is currently Associate Professor of Medicine, Infectious Diseases specialist and lecturer at Thammasat University, Thailand. His research interests are multidrug-resistant bacterial infections, Infection Control, HIV testing and prevention, antiretroviral therapy, opportunistic infections, HIV infection in special populations, and HIV and mycobacterium tuberculosis co-infections.
